Avnet Abacus, one of Europe’s leading interconnect, passive, electro-mechanical and power distributors and a regional business unit of Avnet, has been recognised as Broadline Distributor of the Year 2017 in Panasonic Industry Europe’s annual distribution awards.

The award follows a highly successful 12 months of business development, during which Avnet Abacus substantially outperformed the distribution network in billings growth, and achieved a record increase in bookings for the Panasonic product line.

Significant advances in demand creation metrics and project-related revenue were also attained throughout the year.

The strong business relationship between the two companies has continued to grow, with emphasis on giving customers access to an expanded technology-led product portfolio, which includes industry-leading wireless modules, sensors, power chokes, hybrid capacitors and input devices.

Hagen Götze, director of supplier and product management, european product marketing, Avnet Abacus, commented: “This award is in recognition of the hard work and commitment of the Avnet Abacus team, which in collaboration with Panasonic, has delivered outstanding results through high-level commercial and technical engagement. This approach provides the foundation for continued growth and success together with Panasonic.”

Rudolf Kammerer, director distribution sales division, Panasonic, added: “Our channel partners and distributors are a vital part of Panasonic, and Avnet Abacus has successfully proven its ability to serve our authorised partners with both pre- and post-sales support. The team at Avnet Abacus is committed to delivering industry-leading customer service, and we are thrilled to recognise the company for its excellent sales growth.”
