TT Electronics receives FAA Part 145 aviation repair station certification

TT Electronics announced that its Perry, Ohio, facility has been awarded Part 145 Repair Station certification by the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA). The FAA regulates civil aviation safety and stipulates that aircraft parts must be repaired by a certified repair station to be legally installed in an aircraft.

This certification enables TT Electronics to certify a repaired article for ‘return to service’ status.

The term repair station refers to a maintenance facility that has a certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) Part 145 and is engaged in the maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft products.

The TT Electronics certified repair station number is 42TR136D. TT Electronics received a ‘Limited Accessory’ rating, allowing the company to place any accessory on its capability list that it determines it has capabilities for.

The company is able to undertake self-evaluation, and add any other accessories to its capability list that it deems fit and it can apply for other ratings if the need arises.

Michael Leahan, Executive Vice President for TT Electronics, Global Manufacturing Solutions, commented: “Achieving certification as an FAA Part 145 repair station is a testament to our ongoing commitment to support the aerospace market with strategic investments based on long-term customer partnerships. The certification demonstrates our continued customer focus, and we expect it to provide TT Electronics an increased competitive advantage and new business opportunities.”
